The Martí Maceo Collection honors the legacy of the Afro-Cuban mutual aid society founded in Ybor City in 1904. Created by Black Cuban cigar workers who were shut out of other social clubs, Martí-Maceo became a cornerstone of community strength, cultural preservation and everyday survival.
